Köhler Car Rental becomes DIKS

On 1 September 2026, DIKS will take the next step in its growth strategy with the acquisition of Köhler Car Rental. This brings together two family-run businesses with a rich history and a shared focus on personalised service to form a single, future-proof mobility partner.

With this acquisition, the locations in Delft and The Hague Binckhorst will become part of DIKS. This will enable DIKS to further expand its national network, whilst strengthening the family-run business’s presence in South Holland. It is a move that aligns with the ambition to continue growing, without compromising on personalised service and local engagement.

A new chapter for a family business 

Köhler Car Rental has been a familiar sight in Delft, The Hague and the surrounding area for decades. Since 1930, the family business has been providing private and business customers with passenger cars, commercial vehicles and removal vans. Its origins actually date back to 1876, when Jan Ph. F. Köhler set up a factory for vehicle and bodywork construction. 

Within the Köhler family, there was a desire to find a suitable successor to ensure the company’s future. With DIKS, that successor has been found, and a new chapter is beginning for Köhler. The company’s rich history and strong regional position will be preserved, whilst customers and staff will become part of an organisation that is ready for the future.

Step by step, the organisation is adopting a DIKS x Köhler identity, whilst retaining Köhler’s recognisability. Naturally, the customer-focused service for which Köhler has been renowned for generations will also remain unchanged.
