Van rental week

Renting a van for a week is handy when you need extra load space temporarily, for instance for a house move, collecting a large purchase or doing work around the home. At DIKS you rent a van from 3 to 20 m³, including box vans with a tail lift. You pay a fair all-in price, inclusive of VAT and insurance. Check availability and book online now.

Hiring a van for a week, here's how it works

You collect the van from a DIKS location close to your business or home, because DIKS has locations throughout the Netherlands. This way your rental agreement starts without any detours and you're on your way within a few minutes. From that moment you rent the van for a week, and if you return it later than agreed, that counts as an extra rental day. So keep that in mind if you want the week to fit exactly.

You can return it at any time, even outside the location's opening hours. You park the van in a valid spot, take your belongings out, lock up and put the key in the key box. This way you finish the week just as smoothly as you started it, without having to wait until the desk is open again.

Renting a van for a week: how to book

Book a van for a week online or via the DIKS app. After booking, you manage everything else in your Mijn DIKS account. When you book you'll see which extras are available. Ratchet straps, moving blankets and more. You can add them straight away.

You pay the deposit in advance via iDEAL or Wero, or with your card at pickup. The amount is then settled or refunded. Are colleagues coming along? Add them as extra drivers when booking. They bring their driving licence at pickup.

This is what you can take with you in a van of this size

At DIKS you can hire vans from 3 to 20 m³, so there's always a van to suit the job you have in mind. A van of 3 or 7 m³ is handy if you're taking tools, boxes or other materials to a job, and fits easily in a street where you need to park quickly.

If you're moving house for a week or have a bigger job planned, choose a van with more load space. There's room for cabinets, a sofa, archive boxes and other furniture, so you can take everything you need in a single trip. The vans also include box vans with a tail lift, handy if you need to load and unload heavier items without lifting everything yourself.

A week of unlimited mileage driving: here's how it works

For a rental period of 7 rental days or longer, DIKS automatically calculates the most favourable rate for you. You provide an estimate of your mileage, and based on this you get either a rate with included mileage, or unlimited mileage for a fixed amount per day. Afterwards, DIKS adjusts this to reflect what you have actually driven.

Unlimited mileage is intended for normal use. According to the fair use policy, more than 3,000 kilometres per month is considered unreasonable use, unless it concerns a holiday or one-off intensive use.

Van hire for private or business use

When collecting your van, bring a valid driving licence that you have held for at least 1 year and that is no older than 10 years. If you are renting for the first time or have recently moved house, you will also need proof of address that is no older than 3 months. In addition, bring a debit card or credit card. All of these documents must be in the name of the main renter.

If you are renting for business, the same list applies, with one difference: instead of proof of address, bring a Chamber of Commerce (KvK) extract that is no more than 6 months old. That way you know exactly what to bring beforehand, whether you are renting a van for a week for yourself or for your company.
