Damage

Suppose you hit something or a third person causes damage to the rental car.

In the event of damage, you pay Diks a maximum of your agreed deductible per claim. If the damage is lower than your deductible, you pay less. If the damage is recoverable from a counterparty known to us, you will of course not pay anything.

What should you do in case of damage?

  1. In the event of an accident with the rental car, always complete a claim form (front & back) together with any other party. This is because the insurers need these to settle the damage. You can find the claim form in the glove compartment or online via: mobielschademelden.nl.

  2. IMPORTANT: The claim form must be signed by both parties. Only sign a claim form with which you agree, otherwise do not sign.

  3. Then contact the pick-up location by phone to report the damage and to hand in the claim form.

  4. IMPORTANT: In the case of private rental, the claim form must be submitted within 24 hours and within 48 hours for business purposes.

Who pays for the damage?

All our vehicles are third-party insured. A third-party car insurance only offers coverage against liability damage. The insurer therefore compensates damage caused to others. Damage to the rental car is not covered by this insurance.

In the event of damage, theft or worse, you pay us your agreed deductible per claim, if the damage is lower than your deductible, you pay less. If the damage is recoverable from a counterparty known to us, you will of course not pay anything.

The deductible is not fully surrenderable at Diks Autoverhuur. However, you can choose to lower the deductible for a fixed amount per rental day. More information about the deductible and the rates for lowering it can be found here: the deductible.
