Fair use policy
At DIKS, you always drive at the most affordable rate, tailored to your plans. Unlimited mileage means that you can drive without any additional costs per kilometer. We do this based on our fair use policy. The purpose of this policy is to prevent unreasonable use of our vehicles.
If, at the end of the rental period, it appears that unreasonable use has taken place, DIKS Autoverhuur B.V. reserves the right to charge costs, terminate the rental period, and/or impose other conditions.
What does unlimited mileage mean?
When making your reservation, enter the expected number of kilometers. Our system will then automatically calculate the most economical rate based on your choice:
A lower rate with x number of kilometers included. If you drive more than the specified number of kilometers, you only pay for the extra kilometers.
A fixed rate with no mileage limit. You pay a fixed amount per day, regardless of the number of kilometers you drive.
After returning the rental vehicle, we calculate the actual kilometers driven and apply the most advantageous rate. As a result, the amount on the invoice may differ from the original rental agreement, but you always pay the most advantageous rate!
Would you like to extend the rental period? No problem! Contact the branch where you picked up the vehicle. If the car or bus is available, we will extend the rental period immediately. Is the vehicle already reserved? Then we will work with you to find a suitable alternative.
Exceptions:
Mercedes-Benz V-Class: maximum 100 km free per day, even for 7 days or longer.
Refrigerated vans: 100 km free per day, even for 7 days or longer.
What is unreasonable use?
We consider it unreasonable use if an excessive number of kilometers are driven during the rental period. Are you renting a vehicle for non-vacation purposes and driving more than 1,000 kilometers per week? In this case, we consider it unreasonable use.
