Fair Use Policy
At DIKS, we want to make renting a vehicle as flexible and affordable as possible. That’s why you can opt for unlimited mileage: a fixed daily rate with no extra charges per kilometer. This is convenient if you drive a lot or don’t know exactly how many kilometers you’ll cover in advance.
To keep this fair and affordable for everyone, we have a fair use policy. On this page, you can read what that entails and what you need to keep in mind.
What does fair use mean?
Unlimited mileage is intended for normal use: moving, vacations, business trips, or day trips. It is not intended for consistently intensive use that falls outside of this pattern. If you drive more than 3,000 kilometers per month and it is not for a vacation or one-time intensive use, we consider that unreasonable use. In that case, we may charge additional fees, impose additional conditions, or terminate the rental period.
Exceptions
Specific mileage limits apply to certain vehicles, even for rental periods of 7 days or longer:
• Mercedes-Benz V-Class: up to 100 km free per day
• Refrigerated trucks: up to 100 km free per day
How does the rate work?
When you make a reservation, you provide an estimate of the number of miles you expect to drive. Based on that, we automatically calculate the most affordable rate. After your trip, we adjust the rate based on your actual mileage. That way, you never pay too much.
We offer two rates:
1 - Rate with included kilometers
• Lower daily rate
• Fixed number of kilometers included
• You pay for extra kilometers afterward
2 - Unlimited-kilometer rate
• Fixed amount per day
• No extra charges per kilometer
• Ideal for high or unpredictable mileage
